Networking project response #1
My project was the new apartment with 2 roommates
1. What did you already know about networks and networking before we started?
I knew a few things, I knew about ISPs, settings sites, and WiFi.
2. What did you learn in your own presentation that you did not know prior to the research?
I learned how expensive certain networking solutions can be, such as how expensive routers and modems are.
3. Do you have a better understanding of what components, hardware, software, and connections after your research? If yes go to 4. If no, why not? What would have helped you to learn more?
Yes
4. What did you learn that you found interesting?
I learned about how computers, smartphones, and tablets connected to the internet using WiFi, and what kind of hardware they used to connect to WiFi.
5. From the perspective of a Tech Support professional, do you think you can explain to a person the step by step instructions to set up a network? If yes move on the 6. If no why not? What would have helped you to be able to do this?
Yes
6. As a professional deciding on what equipment, both hardware and software, isp and compatibilities issues do you feel confident you have the skills to decide on what is requirements to set up a network? Why or why not?
Yes, because now I know what specific pieces of hardware and software are necessary to set up a network
7. How did the process go with your team? Did you work well together? If not what can I do in the future to help facilitate working in teams?
The process with my team went well, because we all chose different things to work on, and all did those things efficiently.
