The process is still ongoing, and I will finish soon. This is almost finished. After I finish, I will move on to the experience required for all the careers.

Small Basic Final Reflection

What did you know about programming (any languages)before we started? Before starting this class, I did not have much knowledge at all associated with programming, the most I knew about was using 3D computer graphics software to create animations.  What do you feel you learned well? I feel that I learned the best about using sound programs to play notifications from the computer, and creating loops and arrays to make different programs. What are you still unsure about? I am sort of unsure about conditional statements, they were some of the most complicated things we did, and they were kind of confusing. What do you wish we had more time to do? I wish we had more time to use the sound notifications and the clock functions. These were fun to code and they usually lasted less than a day. Topics covered: printing output, the text and graphics windows, conditional statements, loops, arrays, the turtle, drawing shapes, event procedures, accessing system functions such a...

Debugging and fixing past projects 5/19/17

Today, I worked with debugging tools and looked at my past projects. I managed to work on some of my past projects, and checked what I needed to make them work correctly.

Working with Turtle Graphics and Shapes

Today, while working with Turtle Graphics, I found out about a lot of different things that we can do with the Turtle Graphics. While using the Turtle Graphics, I found that there are many different commands that can be used with the turtle. The turtle is defiantly one of the coolest elements that we have used all class, as is can draw shapes and lines with different colors.

Code coordinates

The numbers in the code that look like numbers and ellipses are called coordinates. They are coordinates for the code.

Working With Small Basic

Today, while working with Small Basic, I discovered a few new things about the coding language. I discovered, for one thing, that it is important to always look at the code you have written first before running the program, to prevent errors. I made a typo in one of my lines of code, and that ended up messing up the entire program because of that. Another thing I learned is the many commands that are possible to use while using Small Basic, such as Text Window, Background Color, and Title, as well as many more.

Networking project response #2

My project was the new apartment with 2 roommates.    1. What were some considerations that were more important for businesses than dorm or home networks? For businesses, faster networks, more reliability, and more security were needed. For dorm or home networks, you don’t need as much of this stuff.    2.  Are you able to install a network for any of the network scenarios that we presented in class? Why or why not? Yes, I am, because the instructions in the scenarios were clear and easy to understand.    3. What would have helped you to understand how to network in these situations more? If there were more details that did not just list simple copy-pasted instructions, and instead elaborated on certain topics with setting up a network.

Networking project response #1

My project was the new apartment with 2 roommates 1.  What did you already know about networks and networking  before we started? I knew a few things, I knew about ISPs, settings sites, and WiFi. 2.  What did you learn in your own  presentation that you did not know prior to the research? I learned how expensive certain networking solutions can be, such as how expensive routers and modems are. 3.  Do you have a better understanding of what components, hardware, software, and connections after your research? If yes go to 4. If no, why not? What would have helped you to learn more? Yes 4. What did you learn that you found interesting? I learned about how computers, smartphones, and tablets connected to the internet using WiFi, and what kind of hardware they used to connect to WiFi. 5. From the perspective of a Tech Support professional, do you think you can explain to a person the step by step instructions to set up  a network?  If y...
a.  Is it clear what is being networked? You know the business, the number of computers etc? Yes, it is. b. Is the set up of the equipment clear? Yes c. Can you clearly see in the instructions and pictures how to plug in the equipment? Yes. clear diagrams are included. d.  Can you clearly visualize how to install the network using the router?  You would be able to follow this presentation to do the install yourself? Yes e. Does the presentation provide you with all of the ISP package features? Yes f. Does the presentation provide you with the features of the router? The description of the router was rather vague, but it does include details about the router. g. Does the presentation clearly indicate what security the isp offers and how to set up a secure network with the router? Yes h.  Are the resources properly labelled and bring you directly to the actual source? Yes

Web Design Reflection

Reflect on what we explored the last few weeks in Web Design and html We learned a lot of things from the George B site, such as Basic Markup, Reusable Code, Tables, Styled Lists, Page Layout, and Menu Styles. We used these things and notepad to create HTML pages that have hyperlinks, text, images, and symbols. share your reflection with stark.brooklinehighschool@gmail.com and also post your reflection on your blog as Web Design Reflection What did you know about HTML before we started? Not many things, I knew that it made up the basics of a lot of websites, but I did not know how it actually worked. What do you feel you learned well in this unit? How to create a simple website that has hyperlinks, charts, lists, and images. What are you still unsure about? Where to place all the specific pieces of the HTML code, so that the website works properly with all of the additional links, images, and charts What do you wish we had more time to do? ...

Reflection on Computer for Grandma Project

1. Was the project challenging? easy? soso? Why? The project was fairly easy but a challenging part was explaining why different parts of the computer are helpful for our grandparents’ needs. 2: I asked you to work with your elbow partner. Explain how that worked for you. Working with my elbow partner Arman was easy and good because we both know a good amount of things about computers. This was helpful since we could determine the best computer for grandma easily. We also knew what the different parts of the computer did. 3: Do you feel you had the resources to do the project? why or why not? I do feel that we had the resources to do the project because the internet gave us the definitions and computer comparison tools that we needed. That was enough information for us to do this project. 4: As a person working in the computer technology industry what type of skills did you develop that can be used in the computer field? I feel that I developed more research skills to research ...

Computer for our Grandmothers Presentation by Aidan Briney and Arman Marchiel

Computer for Grandparents

If I was going to buy a computer for my Grandparents, I would consider a variety of components for their needs. A large screen so that they can see text and things easily. A easy to use keyboard and a easy to use mouse. A computer does not malfunction easily, and is straight forward to fix problems. A computer that is accessible and easy to access, while being secure. A computer that is fast, and has up to date technology. A computer from a company that has a good technical support base

What defines a computer?

A computer is a device that inputs and outputs information. It also uses binary code.

10 Computer Commandments and A tech profession

Answers to questions 2-4 2: What do you want to commit to in this class I want to commit to doing the work in this class so that I have a better understanding of advanced computer science, and so that I can do well on the AP test at the end of the year. 3: What is something that you live by I want to try and live by using my time effectively. 4: What problem do you want to solve when you graduate I'm not sure yet what problem I'd like to solve, but as the class goes on, I will think about it and decide what problem I would like to solve. 3: A tech profession that I have thought of is a Graphics Designer. As a graphics designer Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people. Do not use a computer to make anyone feel bad. Thou shalt not interfere with other people's computer work. Don’t distract other people during class. Thou shalt not snoop around in other people's computer files. Don’t use other people’s computers to look around in ...
